Hi there! You have reached the Blog of Derek (and Amy, and Annika, and Austin). We all currently reside in California. Amy and I met 9 years ago in North Carolina at Nortel Networks. It was in NC where I caught the triathlon bug, and have been swimming, cycling, and running ever since. In 2000, Amy and I joined the “dot com” craze by quitting our jobs, moving out to California, and joining a start-up company. Seven years later, we live in a single-family home, work at two new companies, have two children, and I still manage to squeeze in some triathlons here and there.
